Falling Into Powdered Snow - A Poem
Being stuck in powdered snow is terrifying, but seems harmless at first
A cloud of fluff surrounds you, it's almost relaxing
A welcome break from the fatigue that comes with the slopes
Unless you’re underneath the snow
Then you begin to suffocate
When you try to move the grips give out and you fall
They are snow after all, made of powder, and ice
Every step is at once exhausting and pointless
You dig, and dig
The exhaustion that you thought had ceased momentarily only grows larger
I wish, with all my heart, I could leave the powdered snow
Of course, only once you leave do you remember the exhaustion of the slopes
The exhaustion of life
